Visitor Center and Museum

The Visitor Center is a ticketed venue located at the top of the first gravel driveway; facility is wheelchair accessible with ramp and paved designated parking.

 

Museum Exhibit

1,000 sq. ft. exhibit highlights Arcadia’s unique story by exploring the historical and archaeological aspects of the site including the children’s area, “Meet Me at the Mill” featuring an educational exhibit with hands-on displays.

 

Museum Store

Visit our museum store for unique books and gifts relating to local history and culture.

 

Treetop Classroom

The interactive classroom features traveling exhibits and displays and functions as an educational station for field trips and a space for lectures and programming.

 

Restroom Facilities

Accessible restrooms and a water fountain are located inside.

 

Little Free Library

The porch features a Little Free Library, Charter #35132. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to participate through the motto, “Take a Book, Return a Book.”

Boardwalk & Bridge

The three-fourths mile long, elevated boardwalk navigates visitors around the archaeological remains of the mill facilities and includes interpretive signage highlighting the history, archaeology, and environment at Arcadia Mill. The boardwalk and bridge are wheelchair accessible.

 

Discovery Pavilion

Located near the Visitor’s Center, the Discovery Pavilion features working replicas of 19th century water-powered mill technology in addition to an interpretive, six button sound-post.

 

Nature Trails

The main trail begins at the terminus of the boardwalk including short loops to the east and west, covering approximately one mile of the site. Maps are available in the Visitor’s Center.

 

Picnic

A shaded picnic area with eight picnic tables is available for use. Education Staff requests prior notice from all scheduled group and school tours for use of the picnic area.
